Appearance Standards
Dress and grooming standards for officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
General Standard
Standing Order 6, Section 1 (On Duty)
Police Officers when on duty must always be cleanly and smartly attired. They shall not appear in public view improperly dressed.

Hair on the head shall be kept short and properly groomed.
The chin and under lip must be clean shaven. Shaving of the upper lip is optional.
Whiskers (sideburns, handlebar/walrus moustaches) are not permitted.
Hair markings, words, or drawings styled into the hair are strictly forbidden.
Items of jewelry are not permitted in uniform, except a wristwatch, an "allergy alert" bracelet, and no more than two rings.
Female OfficersSO 6(2)
Hair shall not be worn lower than the nape of the neck. Braids and other hairstyles must be neatly tucked under the headdress.
Unnatural hair colors and hair decorations are not permitted.
Jewelry restrictions mirror those for male officers. A wedding and engagement ring worn together count as one ring.
Fingernails must be kept short with only natural nail polish.
Make-up must be kept simple and minimal.
