Who We Are
The Court and Process Branch performs an integral function in the Police Service. They are responsible for prosecuting offenders before the country’s Courts and providing security at all the courts.
While the Court and Process Branch is located in Port of Spain there are Court and Process sections in all Divisions where Magistrate’s, Courts are located.
The concept of the Court and Process Branch is to ensure that all Administrative functions necessary to bring a matter to court are identified and completed.
What We Do
- Execute Warrants.
- Keep law and order in and around the precincts of Courts.
- Prosecute accused persons at the various Courts.
- Serve Summons, Subpoenas and other legal documents issued by the Courts.
- Provide security, custody and escort prisoners to and from the Courts.
