A Message From The Commissioner of Police
It is an honour to lead the brave men and women of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), who place their lives on the line each day to ‘protect and serve’ their fellow citizens with pride.
The TTPS is undergoing a period of dynamic transformation, so it will not be “business as usual.” Challenges of change are being met head-on, as procedures, policies and policing strategies which are no longer relevant and archaic, are being replaced with new, dynamic, innovative and intelligence driven approaches. Our successful intelligence driven operations, massive drug busts, a 20 percent reduction in serious reported crimes in the 1st quarter of 2019 when compared to the same period in 2018 and the rescue of kidnapping victims, are indicators that change is happening. However, the transformation of the TTPS can only be complete and successful when the burden of transformation is also shared by our clients and stakeholders.
Our transformation process is taking place under the direct scrutiny of our publics, stakeholders and clients, because everyone has a vested interest in the TTPS; our success is a victory for the entire nation. The TTPS is committed to work with members of the public and law abiding citizens to deter and treat with criminal activity where ever it occurs.
The TTPS success is directly linked to the support we get from the public; I will ensure our officers are trained and equipped with skills to improve our customer service relations, while mentoring the youth and ensuring all laws are obeyed as we restore hope and make the country a safer place for all citizens.
